What a future Trainee Broker role may involve
Should a position become available, the role would typically offer structured exposure across the business, including:
- Shadowing experienced brokers and undertaking desk rotations across relevant teams
- Gaining basic chartering exposure to develop understanding of fixtures, terminology, and market workflow
- Learning operational processes, including documentation and end‑to‑end workflow
- Introduction to market analysis, data sources, and reporting fundamentals
- Providing hands‑on chartering support, assisting brokers with live enquiries
- Supporting management of accounts and gaining live market exposure to build commercial awareness
- Participating in supervised negotiation practice, supporting fixture discussions
- Developing client communication skills, including professional and effective stakeholder interaction
